5 DAY ORANGUTAN AND DAYAK TRIBE TOUR

DAY 1 : PANGKALAN BUN - KUMAI - PARK
Upon arrival at Pangkalan Bun Airport meet and transfer to Kumai to board our boat, a traditional Klotok with a roof which forms the upper deck from where you can view the rain forest as we glide by. The boat team includes the boatman, a cook and expert guide. Dinner and overnight on the boat. A simple mattress, pillow, meals, bottled
"mineral" water, mosquito net, kitchen and a simple toilet are available on the boat or stay in a Lodge by the river. [L.D]
DAY 2 : PARK - CAMP LEAKEY - BOAT/LODGE
After breakfast board the klotok to travel up river for about 2 hours then up
a side creek through tea colored water where you will perhaps see the the magnificent fresh water crocodile and other wildlifealong the river bank. Arrive at Camp Leakey research center for Orangutan, where the older orangutans are reintroduced into the rain forest. Spend some time trekking through tropical rainforest searching for wildlife, wild orangutan, birds and other rainforest animals as well as tropical jungle plant.
Back to the boat for lunch then witness feeding time at 14.00 pm for old rehabilitation orangutan who are given  additional food. Overnight on the boat or at the Lodge. [B.L.D]
DAY 03 : PARK - KUMAI - PANGKALAN BUN - BAKONSU DAYAK VILLAGE
After very early breakfast, by boat to Kumait then to the speed boat harbor. By speed boat on the Arut river to Lamandau river passing some villages,a logging company and rapids. A 4 hour drive to remote Bakonsu village and the long house accommodation. Sightseeing around the village then after dinner the village gongs will summon locals with their musical  instruments to gathering together for Horn Bill Dancing Party. Lots of people will join and you will be welcome. Overnight at Long house.(B, L, D)
DAY 04 : BAKONSU DAYAK VILLAGE - PANGKALAN BUN
After breakfast, sightseeing around the village. If you are interested in collecting some Dayak Artifacts such as the mask, mat, and carvings this is the place to do it. Return to Pangkalan Bun by speed boat, stopping at Kotawaringin Palace en route. Free for the rest of the day. Overnight hotel in Pangkalan Bun. (B,L,D).
DAY 05 : PANGKALAN BUN - END
After breakfast transfer by car to Pangkalan Bun airport for your next destination. (B)
