MIKIS JUNGLE SURVIVOR JUNGLE TREKKING

two walkers, trekking in the jungle

OUR OWN ECO-TOURISM PROJECT
Miki is a true native living in a village at the foot of Mount Kinabalu, With three rivers bringing down crystal clear water from the mountain through his land Sardib admits he almost made the disastrous mistake of cutting down the entire forest for commercial fresh water fish ponds.
"That was because I had no other ideas until I met Tham who advised me to keep it for eco-tourism. I have no regrets. I am very happy."
Tham - "My first and main concern was to encourage him to save his forest"
Over 100 groups have visited Miki’s Jungle Survival Camp, been jungle trekking and the project has inspired some 40 other villagers who own a total of about 100 acres of private forest to save their trees too.
Miki's Jungle trekking is as close as you can get to a jungle without being lost in one!
