Orangutans
a protected species
The native Orangutans are now heavily protected and our companies eco-tourism conservation policy and our Orang Utan Quest trip is fully supportive of all measures to conserve and protect this important species.
Borneo is also the centre of evolution and radiation of many endemic species of plants and animals. The remaining Borneo rainforest is the only truly natural habitat for the endangered Orangutan.
Flora and Forna
A beautifully diverse environment
There are literally thousands of species of flowering plants and trees with an abundance of exotic mammals and resident birds to discover!. The Proboscis Monkeys are a particularly interesting mammal species unique to Borneo, and they can often be seen during your visit.

Pygmy Elephants
majestic animals
Not to forget, Borneo pygmy elephants are another major attraction of Borneo wildlife. The pygmy elephants are mainly found in the northern and north-eastern Kalimantan regions, and are almost extinct now.
Borneo Travel has been organizing several wildlife conservation programmes to save the remaining pygmy elephants, which is giving some fruits now. Have a tour with us, and get an amazing experience for life.
Hi Bob
I am just writing to tell you what an wonderful holiday we have had in Borneo.
We spotted wild Orang utan and pygmy elephants at Billit, snorkeled with reef sharks and released baby turtles on Lankayan, as well as being woken one morning to find a turtle nesting just next to our chalet.
It was an amazing experience that none of us will forget, the children had a great time.
I think the highlight was stopping on Lankayan , its such a magical and beautiful place.
So I wanted to say a big thank you for all your help and advise and could you please pass on our thanks to the ‘Borneo Team’, especially Danny, our guide, for his help.
Thanks again
Sue
